Dilly (Sapodilla) Crumble |

Peel dillies & slice thinly. Fill pie plate generously. Squeeze lemon juice over dillies & sprinkle with a mixture of white sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon & rind. Cream butter & brown sugar together. Add flour & beat until the mixture appears granular. Spread over dilly. Bake in 350 degree F. oven for 1 hour. Allow to cool slightly, cut into wedges. May be served with hard sauce. Hard Sauce:
Beat butter & sugar together for 15 min. Add vanilla & egg & continue to beat until fluffy. |
