is Columbia TriStar Television's new half-hour dating reality TV
show.
In SHIPMATES," two complete strangers meet aboard a luxurious cruise ship
and spend three days and two nights getting to know each other and
spending an adventurous day together on a gorgeous Caribbean
island.
The show is a unique combination of a relationship/dating show
and a reality series. The show offers a voyeuristic look into
the real-life adventures of these couples -- even going behind
closed doors to show some of their private, in-room video
moments.

Roger, Age: 29
Christy is a former pro-football cheerleader who’s easy-going
and confident. Roger, a nuclear engineer/writer/model, has mixed
ideas about his ideal woman. The three-day-date starts off
steamy with a game of strip or truth ping-pong. An even more
flirtatious dinner promises romance for the next day…until
one-half of the couple shows their wandering eye. The following
day’s beach encounter and evening create more mixed messages.

Emily is a spontaneous student and waitress. Steve is training to
be a broker, but seems more interested in his “big hair” –
thus, the nickname “Stevie The Head”. Emily is instantly
attracted to Steve, but his interests seem elsewhere. Steve’s
attire on a day trip in port offends her enough to spark a sand
throwing battle on the beach. Will the next day on the ship be
more of the same, or will they try to get along? |

Kim is a part-time bartender with aspirations of being an
actress; Mark works in sales, and likes to be in charge. When
they first meet, Mark is a little bossy, but Kim thinks he has a
great personality and enjoys his company. At the end of the
first night they participate in a “butt dance” contest and
have a good time. Day two brings out a side of Mark Kim
doesn’t like – especially when she overhears him tell
another couple he got stuck “with an actress who was not
college educated.” Will time in the Bahamas sailing bring back
any of the initial attraction or will they end up going it alone
day three? |

Dennis, Age: 31
Dennis is a strong willed, self-employed banker; Samina is a
strong willed woman who can also be consumed with her appearance
and proper etiquette. Despite such strong personalities, their
initial meeting sparks immediate attraction – and day one ends
in a sexy, flirtatious whipped cream fight. Day two continues
the attraction, complete with a little dirty dancing. But, a
huge argument after their final dance seems to dampen the mood.
Will a long romantic nature walk in Alaska be enough to
re-kindle this romance? |
